My Evil Mother - Margaret Atwood - A Short Summary and Review

Image
A short summary of My Evil Mother: So, let me tell you a bit about my mother....... My favorite Margaret Atwood quote from the book: "Respect is better than like." Questions to ponder while reading the book: Is your mother a witch? Do you always trust what your mother says? My review of My Evil Mother: A quick read by the author of the Handmaid's Tale and Alias Grace . So much family dysfunction is a short story. I don't know that I would have ever been so gullible... **************************************** a.d. elliott is a wanderer, writer, and photographer currently living in Salem, Virginia.  In addition to the travel writings at  www.takethebackroads.com , you can also read her book reviews at  www.riteoffancy.com  and US military biographies at  www.everydaypatriot.com Her online photography gallery can be found at  shop.takethebackroads.com #TaketheBackRoads Like my page? Questions to ponder while reading the book: Do you grasp or embrace? What is your mission? My thoughts about the book: A great perspective changer. A great relationship to strive for. Mother Night - Kurt Vonnegut - A Short Summary and Review

Image
A short summary of Mother Night: "Pretending" to write Nazi propaganda, but for a good cause. My favorite Kurt Vonnegut quote from the book: "We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be." Questions to ponder while reading the book: Is there ever a good reason to do the wrong thing? Is it possible to atone for the atrocity of Nazism? My review of Mother Night: LOVED! LOVED! LOVED! One of the best moral lessons ever. It's a philosophical must-read. Catriona's War - Jean Grainger - A Short Summary and Review

Image
A short summary of Catriona's War: An Irish girl's undercover escapade as a Belgian operative for the British Government in the French Resistance. My favorite Jean Grainger quote from the book: "Because, you see, each day I love you more, today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow." Questions to ponder while reading the book: Who is your family? Where are your loyalties? My review of Catriona's War: Quick, easy, entertaining read. A new twist to a WWII story. I would have liked more development in places, but it was still a fun read.  **************************************** a.d. elliott is a wanderer, writer, and photographer currently living in Salem, Virginia.  In addition to the travel writings at  www.takethebackroads.com , you can also read her book reviews at  www.riteoffancy.com  and US military biographies at  www.everydaypatriot.com Her online photography gallery can be found at  shop.takethebackroads.com #TaketheBackRoads Like m...
