Tiny Blunders Big Disasters: Thirty Nine Tiny Mistakes that Changed the World Forever - Jared Knott - A Short Summary and Review

Image
A short summary of Tiny Blunders Big Disasters: Telling the tale of the little things that snowballed. My favorite Jared Knott quote from the book: "It is much easier to do the right thing when you have no other choice." Questions to ponder while reading the book: Have you ever wondered how the world could have been different? Do you believe in fate? My review of Tiny Blunders Big Disasters: A fun read about the would haves/could haves/should haves. Well researched and entertaining. .....you just never know how much different things could have been. **************************************** a.d. elliott is a wanderer, writer, and photographer currently living in Salem, Virginia.  In addition to the travel writings at  www.takethebackroads.com , you can also read her book reviews at  www.riteoffancy.com  and US military biographies at  www.everydaypatriot.com Her online photography gallery can be found at  shop.takethebackroads.com #TaketheBackRoads Li...

Reminders of Him - Colleen Hoover - A Short Summary and Review

Image
A short summary of Reminders of Him: Life and a new love after prison. My favorite Colleen Hoover quote from the book: "Are you gonna live in your sadness, or are you gonna die in it?" Questions to ponder while reading the book: Have you ever done something terrible? Is there a wrong time for romance? My review of Reminders of Him: A fun-to-read book about second chances. Lots of emotional twists and turns. I really felt that the romance angle was inappropriate for the situation. **************************************** a.d. elliott is a wanderer, writer, and photographer currently living in Salem, Virginia.  In addition to the travel writings at  www.takethebackroads.com , you can also read her book reviews at  www.riteoffancy.com  and US military biographies at  www.everydaypatriot.com Her online photography gallery can be found at  shop.takethebackroads.com #TaketheBackRoads Like my page? The Gulag Archipelago, Volume 1 - Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn - A Short Summary and Review

Image
A short summary of The Gulag Archipelago: The insider's guide to the Soviet secret prisons. My favorite Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn quote from the book: "Power is a poison well-known for thousands of years." Questions to ponder while reading the book: Do you believe in your government? Do you have pride in yourself? My review of The Gulag Archipelago Volume 1: A damn scary book about the costs of communism. The conditions broke my heart. Very hard to get through but, I think, a necessary read.  I'm tapping out before reading volumes 2 & 3. Volume 1 was enough for me. **************************************** a.d. elliott is a wanderer, writer, and photographer currently living in Salem, Virginia.  In addition to the travel writings at  www.takethebackroads.com , you can also read her book reviews at  www.riteoffancy.com  and US military biographies at  www.everydaypatriot.com Her online photography gallery can be found at  shop.takethebackroads...
